The Beginning.

Despite my piling amount of work and papers, I still think it's only responsible of me to start this blog/diary as a self reminder for the future me(i hope not necessary).

Some where in March 2016, I think, a doctor/Professor I've been working on with on my alarming health, for my age, of course; called me and informed me of this workshop they are having for the faculty in the university hospital. I'm usually a very accepting/adventurous person I'd say. However, when it comes to the thought of inserting a foreign material into my body, I'm more cautious with that. He told me I could always arrange an appointment to meet him up and talk more about it. At this point, I've already been given a brief cover of the procedure, called bariatric balloon named Spatz 3.

So, I've started to google all I can read and find about this product. It's not been FDA approved yet, but it's been applied by doctors around the world to help patients like me, to lose weight. Well, not much of side affects can be found other than the common nauseating issue. Perhaps it's still new or the fact that the balloon can only stay in a person's body for less than a year. Hence, studies are not as in depth yet. The bright side is, I won't be covering the charges for the balloon if I agree to get it done during the workshop which coincidentally clashes with a planned breakaway with my girlfriends. So, after giving it a thought, I initially declined the offer. (I've paid for all the flight tickets and accommodation, mind you)

I guess my innerself was just screaming and yelling at me for the foolish decision. So, I talk to my sister. She was like, Hell yea, go give it a try, not like the place you are going to is gonna vanish any time soon, but the chance will.

There it goes, I've embarked my first Journey in my 29 years of life to actually make effort to try to lose weight.

Made an appointment with the doctor, saw the dietitian. Tried to follow a strict diet from the dietitian. Bright side is, I can whack as much veges as I want. *grin*

And here comes the day. April 10th. To my surprised, I've lost approx 5kgs from the day I've started the diet. Sis drove me to the hospital, on a Sunday.. and within a few hours, the balloon is inside me! So spend all night in the hospital without an actual good night sleep as nurses would be waking me up for temp, bp and blood sugar test(hate it). And I'm discharged the very next day with the instructions to stick to fluid only diet for the next 10 days.

So, it's been 5 days since the balloon is fitted, I'm still trying to figure out if my nausea is due to hunger, too full or the balloon. Pardon me, but it's not easy to gauge that. Still unable to have a good night sleep, sis concluded that it's because I've slept too much during the day which I beg to differ. I'm still trying to find a most comfortable position to sit and to sleep and after 5 days of mocking around, still fail to do so. I'd phase out from what ever I'm doing and just trying to bear the gastric like pain I'm getting. I'm experimenting with soft food like kiwis and porridge, as I realize my pain could really due to hunger.

Not working yet for now, obviously. Anyways, enough babbling for now.
